Charlie organized Private Bank of Buckhead and its holding company, Private Bancshares, Inc., and the bank opened its doors to the public on December 11, 2006. The bank now includes the Private Bank of Decatur and PrivatePlus Mortgage divisions. PrivatePlus originates mortgages in 50 states + D.C., while the bank focuses on community banking right here at home. Charlie started his banking career in New York in 1985 with Bankers Trust Company, and later spent 10 years with Bank South in Atlanta. In 1996, he started The Buckhead Bank and, in 2001, Riverside Bank of Buckhead. Charlie is frequently quoted about banking and related topics, in media outlets ranging from the Atlanta Business Chronicle and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution to BusinessWeek and U.S. News & World Report. He has undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School of Business, and received his MBA at Georgia State University. He is a graduate of the LSU School of Banking and Leadership Atlanta (2005). Charlie is a Director of the Buckhead Coalition (Treasurer) and is on the Board of the Georgia Tennis Foundation. He is a past chair of the Atlanta Track Club, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta. He also is a member of the Board of Advisors for the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University, and is on the Board of Councilors for The Carter Center. Charlie serves on the board of McKenney’s, an Atlanta-based company that is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the United States, and is one of the Advisors for CDE Services. He is a member of the World Presidents’ Organization, serves on WPO’s board, and is a member of CEO (Chief Executives Organization), for which he serves as Vice Chairman for Membership for Atlanta.
